I have decided to make a wall quilt of this beautiful winter house of our friends Mr.&Mrs.Karakus when we were invited there. It would be a surprise to one of my best friends Mrs.Dilek Karakus on her birthday.
During our visit I have taken several pictures as a memory. But I knew perfectly well that one of the pictures became my pattern while I was making the wall quilt.
The original cushion cover was made by Mrs.Guner Tokatli with traditional Turkish handcraft ( Türk Işi ) half century ago.
Her daughter Mrs.Isil Sen requested a contemprary design to be applied. We have fulfilled her wish by using shadow applique and shell technique.
Losev is one of the most powerful associations in Turkey which is concerned about leukaemia of kids. We, as GC Patchwork Studio, have organized several events on behalf of Losev for years such as Rainbow Fashion Show.
These small projects which were designed by myself, produced by the mothers of the kids who suffer from leukaemia, and sold for the benefit of those kids.
I feel so honoured to be a small part of that wonderful family.
Dear Friends,
I just happened to open a new section on my web site, called “My Gallery“. I selected 21 works from until 1987 and published their stories, general and detailed photos.
I enjoyed making it, I hope you’ll also enjoy watching them !
I will update that page regularly and add the rest of my works, so I recommend that you visit the page again soon!
