Grandmother’s Remembrance

Yadigar

We have recently started designing antique quilts. Grandmother's Remembrance is the very first design of our studio.

The antique piece was made by Mrs.Hikmet Akyurek about a century ago. Her grand daughter Pelin asked me to design a contemporary quilt for her daughter.

Shadow appliqué and paper piecing was used. Pieced by hand, quilted by hand.

As Far As You Go

Gidebildiğin Kadar

With my last quilt “ As Far As You Go “ ,I imagined to sail to the shores that the Sun and the Sea meets each other, where there is no restrictions, limits or rules yet just the moments to live. In my opinion my last quilt explained how I felt right at the moment,at the age close to fifty.

Watercolor technique is used, hand appliqued, hand quilted.

"As Far As You Go" displayed first at Selcuk,Efesus International Art Festival, Sept. 2007

To My Dear Daddy

70 Yetmemiş

"70 Yetmemiş" would be the name of Dad's memoirs,if he could be able to finish it so it could be published. Bülent Bozdag was one of the delicate, refined gentlemen of Istanbul. In detailed pictures you can see the pieces of his foulards, neckties, cuff links, handkerchiefs and pijamas. The antique pieces inside of the quilt and on the borders belong to my family.

Crazy technique, shadow applique was used.Hand pieced, hand quilted. The quilt was exhibited at many local shows but never entered to any competition .
